Easily split a restaurant bill, including tax and tip, among any number of people.
Should I tip on the pre-tax or post-tax amount?
Standard tipping etiquette suggests tipping on the pre-tax subtotal of the bill. However, for simplicity, many people calculate the tip based on the final total. Our calculator uses the total bill amount you enter as the base for the tip calculation, which is the most common real-world approach.
What if some people had more expensive items?
This calculator performs an even split. If you need to split the bill unevenly based on what each person ordered, you would need to calculate each person's share of the bill individually and then split the tax and tip proportionally or evenly.
