Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How does it handle overnight shifts?

The calculator automatically detects when the end time is on the next day (e.g., starting at 10:00 PM and ending at 6:00 AM) and calculates the duration correctly across midnight.

Why is the decimal hour format useful?

While "8 hours and 30 minutes" is easy to read, "8.5 hours" is what you need for payroll calculations. To calculate your pay, you simply multiply your hourly rate by the decimal hours worked (e.g., $20/hour × 8.5 hours).
